Alicia and Paul contacted me in a last minute search for a wedding photographer, and I am so glad they did!

Although I knew Alicia in College, it has been YEARS since I saw her. So long in fact, I didn’t even know she was about to get married! When I met up with them at the wedding venue to talk details, I instantly fell in love. That is another perk of my job….I get to fall in love a lot ;)

I fell in love with this couple. Alicia and Paul. They were calm, open and relaxed…and I LOVE that.

And, I fell in love with the venue. Space Gallery in Denver.

I am actually missing the place deeply…I think I might go drive by just for a quick fix ;) A old building, high ceilings, real hard wood floors, hanging lights, white walls, amazing light, so much character….yes, I know all you other photographers are drooling.

I could go on and on, but I think I will just get to it. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. B! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of  your beautiful day! I hope you like what you see here, and I can’t wait for you to see all the edits!

I can say that (finally married) because I have known them from the beginning. I actually knew Brandon first as he was one of our college roommates. Me, my now husband, another girl and two other guys. Brandon being one of them. I won’t go in to details….because, well…that house was a mess and most the time I hated the kid. But, I can now say I honestly love him & I am so so happy for these two.

They met in a college speech class, something my husband will take full credit for, and she was turned on by his…boyish charm?….no, more like she was attracted to him and his nonsense. Whatever it was, it worked and I am so glad it did. I loved Michaela from the moment I met her. Any of us will say that we knew she was different than any other girl he had brought around & really I think we all knew it would end up in marriage. We just didn’t think it would take 8+ years ;)

I could go on and on with stories from college with these two, but I don’t want to ruin my reputation ;) So I will just get to it.

Here is the beautiful preview from their beautiful and super fun wedding! This backyard mountainside wedding was so them! Charming, fun & completely relaxed!

Why no pics of the first dance or cake you ask?….well, because one of the benefits to be the photographer and a college friend is they let you put the camera down & party after formal pics are done!

I can’t wait for you guys to see the rest!….Just give me about 6 weeks ;)

So based off the wedding colors, can you guess where we went to college??

When Amy contacted me about doing her wedding photos in Colorado Springs, to be honest the first thing that appealed to me was the intimate wedding size of 8 people! And that includes the Bride and Groom! It’s no secret that weddings aren’t my favorite things to photograph. Which is why I only take on a couple a year. Man, they are a LOT of work. I have said it before, and I will say it MANY times again….I do not know how full time Wedding Photographer do it. I really don’t. Kudos to them!

OK, so back to Amy and her wedding :) ! Her wedding was on a GORGEOUS friday morning, in CO Springs. (Yep, that same Friday after those crazy hail/wind/rain storms here in Colorado!) We started with the bride and groom photos at 730am in Manitou Springs. My assistant, Ashely, and I checked out the town the night before and we instantly fell in love! Talk about an adorable little mountain town, full of character and color! Our heads were beaming with ideas, so Friday morning we were really full of excitement. The sun was out (giving Ashely and nice arm work out, poor girl got to block sunspots with the my huge reflector!) and everything was perfect! After about 90 minutes of fun and photos in the town we headed over to 7 Falls for the ceremony. 7 Falls is another location I had never been to, and talk about a perfect spot for a little wedding ceremony! We went up the elevator, THANK GOD, to a little balcony over looking the falls. It was beautiful, short and full with love and emotion. What more could you want from a ceremony, really??!!

Here is a small preview of what a perfect day we had! Thank you again to Amy and Jarod for allowing us to capture your day!

You might recognize these love birds from their engagement session last summer, or from the recent Rock That Dress post. I have known the groom since college….Way back when!  And I had the pleasure of meeting his, then fiance now wife last summer. I believe some people are just made for each other. And these two definitely fall into that category. Both fun, and silly, smart and funny. Always looking for a good time, always with smiles on their faces. It’s adorable.

The wedding was amazing, and I loved all the special touches. All the bridesmaids carried a different bouquet of flowers, and the “toss bouquet” was a Football! The cake topper fit them to the T…down to the brides pink shoes. Her ‘something blue’ was a Cowboys logo on her garter. Each table had a name, and a story behind the name. Like the location of their first date, a book he read to , or  destination of their honeymoon. So much thought put into the details, to make it special and unique. I loved it.

The wedding day was CLEAR, no clouds in the sky for the first time in days. We did catch a tiny passing by of rain towards the end of photos, but nothing major. The location of the reception, The Pines at Genesee, was lovely. A perfect view overlooking the evening light storm and the nights full-moon.

Congratulations again my friends. Here is a small preview of what is to come…I have a lot of editing your pretty little faces in my future :D !

Hooray, the wedding is over! (It was beautiful, by the way) And now I can post the bridal session!!

This girl, can rock a dress!! It’s like the dress was made FOR HER! So amazing. Simple and stunning.

We had a lot of fun with this session! Down Town Denver is such a fun place to shoot, no matter the occasion. And it’s always fun to run into bums by the water…who ask for your Credit Card. Seriously, it happened. At least you know if you book a session with me, it will come with a story!

Anyways, here they are!! Enjoy!

Not me…I wish…But the bride and groom from my latest weeding are back from their honeymoon~so that means, I can now post the full preview.

I have had it ready to go now for a week, but I didn’t want EVERYONE to be able to see their images before they had the chance to check them out themselves.

I hope you two love birds had a fabulous time! And next time, remember to bring me a long…doesn’t everyone want a photographer to follow them around on their honeymoon??? ;)

This wedding was pretty much perfect. We couldn’t have asked for better lighting or weather. Those of you who live in Colorado know that afternoon thunderstorms are almost a given on any day in the summer. Especially if up in the mountains. On this particular day up in Evergreen the clouds were FULL, and there were times I was worried we were going to get dumped on at any moment. But I never felt more than a couple rain drops at a time. Of course the heave cloud coverage made for the perfect lighting! The bride looked stunning and the groom was all smiles as he watched his future wife walking down the aisle. It is moments like that one that give me goosebumps, the good kind :D This was also the first time I had used a second shooter, and let me say…I don’t know how I went so long with never having one before. It’s so nice knowing you have someone there to capture those candid special moments that you (as the main photographer) don’t have time to capture. This was Ashley’s first time ever shooting a wedding, as she is more of a sports and fire (lucky girl gets to look at firemen all the time) photographer. And she did an outstanding job! And I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Congrats again to the bride and groom! Hope you like your preview…LOTS more to come!!
