Those of you who live in Colorado with me, know that Spring time is a HUGE TEASE! It will be nice and bright and sunny one morning, then snow that afternoon, back to sun the next day. It stresses me out, should I wear flip flops and risk my toes being cold or should I just KNOW that the nice weather isn’t going to stay and put on my tennis shoes?? But, I hate wearing closed toes shoes after March so I always wear flip flops
I think that is the AZ girl in me. I love the nice warm sun beating down on my face. Although I can’t take the heat like I used to. Growing up in AZ I remember walking BAREFOOT on the boiling hot black pavement in the middle of the summer to have water balloon fights with the neighbor kids and it wouldn’t bother me one bit. I go to AZ in the summer now and frankly, I want to die. I will be out there in August this year, and I am already dreading the heat. I might pass out when I walk off the plane. Oh well, it’s all for my BFF who will be having her third baby girl. So I am just gonna have to suck it up!
This morning my boys and I woke up at 8:15!! We have to leave the house by 8:30 to get to school on time!!! So it was a breakfast of waffles and apples in bed while getting dressed kind of morning. It was a tad crazy. Mornings like that can ruin your day. When we finally made it out to the car at 8:40 I noticed it had rained all night. The trees were all glittery from the sun shining down on the rain drops, and it made me smile. My stress of the mornings was instantly wiped away. Spring, I think is finally here to stay and I absolutely love it!

WARNING—CHOCOLATE ADDICTS SHOULD LOOK NO FURTHER!
This morning I woke up and looked up some new recipes to have for dinners this week. Something I haven’t done in a LONG time! …Once I got all the meals planned and shopping list was complete, my boys and I looked over some fun baking recipes. My oldest is in Pre-School and I have decided I need to stop being the lazy mom, who picks up a box of Gogurts when it’s his turn to bring snack, and step it up a notch. I don’t want my kid to have “the mom who brings the sucky snacks”. Along with finding healthy fun snacks for school, we came across this recipe for Chocolate Chocolate Cherry Cookies. I love Chocolate, I love cherries, and I love cookies
So it pretty much had my name all over it! This afternoon my boys had some fun—well, they had fun I may have had a mild panic attack from the mess they were creating—making these yummy in your tummy cookies. I had to share, they are too good not to
And tomorrow, for Kalebs school snack we will be making PB&J Bars!
So, how many of you are on your way to the store right now to pick up the needed ingredients????
