It’s hard to believe a year has passed since I did this little beauties newborn session! Time flies! And I am convinced that the older you get, the faster it goes!

This past Saturday I went over to the {S} house for a special one year session with Miss. Savannah! We did, of course, get pics of all her beautiful siblings as well…but I decided to keep this post all about Savannah and her cake smash. She is the baby after all

Simply said, Savannah loved being in the spotlight….just she and her cake

This cake is ALL for me? And I am not going to get in trouble if I touch it?

Yea!!!

Mom says I have to be done now?

Whew, school starts back up next week! And between you and me, I am so ready! I never thought I would be that mom who was ready for her kids to go back to school, but I am! My two boys have been together way too much this summer & are well in need of a break from each other! I wasn’t expecting this week to be so busy with school prep & I have sadly fallen behind on my work. Yikes! Lucky for me, I have wonderful clients who understand…..or at least they tell me they do

On to the preview…..This Family is well known on this blog, as I have been photographing them since there now 4 year old was just 2! Maxson has now turned the big ONE, and I am so happy to have captured his first year!

I can’t believe this little princess is already ONE!

Miss Karli wasn’t too sure about this whole cake thing. It took mom smashing her hand in to the cake, for her to realize it was OK to make a mess….just this one time

After this session we also did some outdoor photos that are completely adorable(remember this little ‘sneak’ I posted?)! They deserve their own post, so those will be posted next!

I hadn’t seen this little man since I did his newborn pictures! It feels like that was just a few months ago…not 12!

He was so much fun, well mannered, and of course ADORABLE! I think he takes the award for being the only 1 year to actually pause and SMILE for me. So sweet!

Happy First Birthday, Emerson!!

Cute, right? Actually makes me want to smash a cake for my birthday! Ha!

Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting yet another wonderful family, and their pride and joy Tegan. Talk about a beautiful little girl. Her blue eyes just POP out…and so does her sweet personality.

She was a wonderful little model. Wasn’t too fond of her cake when it came time for the cake smash, but even then the photos we got are darling.

Thank you guys for being so patient with me. I had hoped to have these posted a couple days ago….but this cold I caught had different plans for me.

I won’t make you wait any longer! Enjoy your preview I will get the rest done asap!

Cake Smash?? What is that you ask?? Well, it’s awesome. That is what it is. Sure, it’s messy and requires a lot of clean up from the parents involved. BUT, they are so fun! And a GREAT way to capture your one year old. All you do, make/buy a cake, set it in front of them and let me click away until they have had enough. Which is usually a lot quicker than you would think

Meet Gunner. This Kid Rock loving little dude was SO much fun!! I didn’t have to pull out any of my tricks to get a smile out of him. He was just giving them out for free. And that doesn’t happen too often. Especially with a one year old. Typically they really like to make me work for it. And I am sure they think I am a little bit crazy, and the smiles finally come out just to make me go away

And again, I have fabulous clients! I show up to their home, start setting up and realized I FORGOT the needed pieces to set up my light!!! I had a slight panic attack, that I think I kept hidden….haha, doubt that. But they were great, laughed it off with me until I realized I would be fine using my OCF on-camera. PHEW, glad they had low ceilings and white walls!
